Britain also has a significant issue of under employment, getting a full time contract in many entry level roles these days is borderline impossible.
The way the statistics are presented as well mean that the actual situation is likely even worse, the unemployment rate doesn’t actually include those not trying to look for work (which is a recorded issue in the UK among younger generations).

In a society constantly trying to lower pay, and create worse labour conditions, when the NHS is under constant attacks, when there a housing and cost of living crisis, Brexit happened and politics went corporate and American…
…now why wouldn’t young people want to work for a society like that? Why aren’t they working hard for the promise of a worse life, and the enrichment of billionaires? In a world where everything is measured in financial gain, profit, and capital, rather than happiness?

Blaming it all on foreigners is tried already. It resulted in Brexit and that didn’t improve the situation
I don’t get the immigrant job thing. On the other side of the pond people say the same thing. All I see is immigrants are the only ones willing to work these low paying jobs. The locals don’t. So even if the immigrants weren’t there they’d be void of employees. Someones got to fill the void.
Supply and demand. Flood a market with labor and wages go down. Flood a market with renters and rent goes up. It’s unfortunate we can’t acknowledge that immigration isn’t unbridled goodness and that anyone who brings this up is just a silly stupid racist that can’t get a job
Across the point blaming foreigners paved the road for Trump, but people are denser than fucking plutonium. It’s a story as old as the 1930s (and even older then)

Between immigrants and AI taking British people’s jobs; there are going to be no jobs left at all.

Third highest among Europe’s richest countries. Is that relatively bad?
