The fact that “unlimited toilet paper” is a luxury for prisoners says a lot about the way we treat other prisoners.

I’d never even considered toilet paper, but they do tend to skimp heavily on nutrition in the US. Meals are often low calorie, high carb, low protein and a poor source of vitamins and minerals. Additionally, calls can be as much as $5 per minute. Guards have the ability to levy fines upon prisoners by inventing imaginary issues, which usually also extends a prisoner’s sentence.
