Legal mechanism, like one in Syria, could have assisted in investigation and prosecution of lower-level criminal perpetrators in the occupied Palestinian territories who the ICC is unlikely to focus on
A UN Human Rights Council (HRC) resolution that would have established a mechanism to help with the investigation of crimes committed in the occupied Palestinian territories was watered down following backroom pressure from the US, a US official and a source briefed by a European diplomat told Middle East Eye.
The final wording of the resolution, adopted by the council this week, invites the UN General Assembly only “to consider establishing” such a body.

The USA does not belong in the UN.
Then you misunderstand why the US helped set it up in the first place.
Its not to keep the peace. Should it be? Oh yes, it should.
Its not about justice. Should it be? Again, yes.
It was set up to keep the USA, Britain, Russia, and others on the security council in power. In this way, the US flexing its might at the UN is par for the course.
That was then. This is now. I'm not saying things changed, but that they can change. It requires courage, strength, hope and fortitude.
Other than the obvious fuck America stuff, the PA is a bunch of sellouts for agreeing to this.
The PA is just controlled opposition for Israel.
Why does this sound like another way to attack palestinians rather than to stop genocide? I think I know…
