This is infuriating but predictable. Sanctioning a UN special rapporteur for documenting war crimes is not accountability, it is intimidation. Francesca Albanese has a track record in international law and human rights, and trying to erase or silence that work because it makes powerful states uncomfortable is exactly how impunity survives.

If the US really cared about the rule of law and civilian life, it would be pushing for independent investigations and protections for civilian populations, not punishing truth-tellers. Stand with people who name what’s happening in Gaza, and stop treating human rights experts like the problem.
