The US apparently doesn’t even know what regime change is, looking at Venezuela.

You really have to squint to see it. It looks similar because it’s merely a shift from one corruption brand to another.

A big part of what’s going on in Venezuela is denying their oil to countries unfriendly to US interests. Bad news for Cuba, an antagonist who relies on Venezuelan oil for electricity generation.

Cuba and her ability to generate electricity are already shaky.

I mean…the Trump administration is telegraphing the shit out of their intentions.

Funny, my dad asked me about the Greenland thing, and I said it’s unlikely to happen, but watch Cuba. The Europeans will be so happy that the US isn’t backstabbing them it won’t kick a fuss about Cuba.

I think Greenland is definitely on the menu.

The funny thing is that normalization of Cuban relations is only going to royally piss off the medical industry in the USA.

Innerworld@lemmy.world on 24 Jan 01:48 collapse

How are they related?

HobbitFoot@thelemmy.club on 24 Jan 14:46 collapse

One of the things that the Cuban government has done right is its medical industry. The Cuban government is able to create world class doctors relatively cheaply and can provide relatively good health care given its relative poverty.

A normalization of US-Cuba relations is likely going to open up Cuba to American tourism.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a massive influx of Americans going to Cuba to get medical treatment there.
