And that is saying something: en.wikipedia.org/…/List_of_Shaw_Brothers_films

You aint kidding! They released 1,085 movies!

To put that in perspective: Two separate companies, Arrow and Shout Factory, are doing big collections. Arrow has done 4, Shout has done 8, re-releasing 147 movies with absolutely no overlap between the two series(!)

147 / 1085 = 13.55% of all Shaw Brothers films.

If 12 sets got us 147 films, it will take around 90 sets to do all 1,085 movies.

Truly he has gone beyond want, to not even care about his career and image like that. What a spiritual role model.

They sentenced a temple to 24 years in prison? It’s a sad time for out-of-work editors when headlines like this get published.

Now I don’t know this guy’s story. But I was told that sometimes young boys are given to the monastery as kids by their families. Poor families who can’t take care of them. The boys have no say.

Because of this, it might not be surprising that some aren’t really devoted to the religion and have only used it as security.

I do believe that the boys get a choice to stay or leave when they reach adulthood. But imagine being such a foster kid with no where to go.

You may take the vows just to have a meal and a bed.

Not sure what the solution would be.
