Reports of sexual assault in the Israel Defense Forces have increased drastically since the October 7 war, an IDF report published Monday said.
The army’s presentation also showed a decrease in the number of indictments filed on sexual assault between 2024 and 2025, while the number of cases handled by an internal court-martial dropped sharply. In 2025, 42 indictments were filed, 21 of which were handled inside the military unit. In 2024, there were 49 indictments, 47 of which were handled inside the unit.
The data presented showed that 82 percent of the victims in 2025 were women and 18 percent were men. Of the assaults, 70 percent were by men against women, 3 percent by women against men and 25 percent were between individuals of the same sex: 16 percent between men and 9 percent between women.
