This reminds me of Reddit’s rollout of their “new reddit” interface. When users rejected it, management temporarily backed off, and then boiled the proverbial frogs by rolling it out slowly. In the end, it was still pushed upon people who didn’t want it, and the “old” interface that management promised to keep as an alternative was gradually modified in subtle ways that made it more invasive.

It’s the same playbook used by politicians who want to expand their power or take away people’s rights.

I don’t imagine this Discord change will be much different.

Did you switch to anything? There’s a 1000+ person group for my city to support each other and it’s become a ghost town.
