According to the Gaza Health Ministry, at least 2,215 Palestinians have been killed, including 724 children, and 8,714 wounded since October 7.

In the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, 54 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces and settlers, with more than 1,100 wounded.

According to the Palestinian Health Minister, 28 health care workers have been killed by Israel since October 7. 15 medical centers have been damaged by Israeli strikes, with Beit Hanoun Hospital and Al-Durrah Children’s Hospital being rendered out of commission. As well, 23 ambulances “have been damaged and rendered inoperable.”

The Jordan Field Hospital has also shut down due to Israeli attacks. It “used to provide free medical services to about 1,000-1,200 people daily.”

Since October 12, most Palestinians no longer have access to drinking water through the tap. According to OCHA, “As a last resort, people are consuming brackish water from agricultural wells, triggering serious concerns about the spread of waterborne diseases.”

Since October 7, in the West Bank, OCHA has tallied 63 settler attacks against Palestinians, including some cases where Israeli forces were involved. “This represents an average of nine incidents per day, compared with a daily average of three incidents since the beginning of this year.”

Apparently it’s how you kill people that matters.
Gunning down innocent people (including children)? Unacceptable and genocide justifying.
Exploding innocent people (including children) from a distance using bombs manufactured and sold for profit? No problem, carry on, we won’t even report it.
I guess the real crime was “not spending enough money” and not all the murder.
It’s been this way for a long time. The terror bombing of German and Japanese cities and the way it was justified and seen as different from the atrocities the axis committed against civilians has caused the West to become brutal in a way it is blind to.
They literally were justified
This isn’t a black and white moral issue in which something can be declared “justified” or “unjustified” and that’s the end of the matter.
The razing of cities has been seen as just and unjust by various people over human history. However, if the razing of axis cities has been conducted in the old fashioned way, by killing men women and children with hand held weapons, instead of bombs dropped from a distance, then the ≈650,000 deaths that resulted might be viewed differently.
Both sides of this conflict are fucking assholes.
I’m very unemotional, but humanity is my soft spot and I’ve been very disheartened and at a loss these past few days. It’s hard to wrap my head around how people can do this to one another, then the reactions of those uninvolved. I can’t believe people can take such stances on these things.
