This kinda bums me out. This is a big reason I use Android, even if I sometimes don’t use a ROM.
Author mentioned GrapheneOS, which was my first thought. This really sucks.
It amazes me that everything Google touches, good or bad, eventually turns to shit.
So no one actually reads the articles on Lemmy either?

Changes to the free part of Android (AOSP) is no longer going to be constantly publicly accessible. Google will release the source code once development on that branch is done. The code is (eventually) open source, but not constantly. It is kind of a damp squib, though.
Haven’t had android for a few years. I’ll just make the switch permanent.
