The SEP doesn’t say how it or anyone else should go about building a ‘socialist anti-war movement’ though. I can only conclude they mean that everyone should join the SEP. This goes a long way to absolving the SEP of also failing to have stopped the ongoing genocide of Palestinians and Israel’s war on neighbouring countries.

Is the SEP involved in any of the anti-war coalitions in the UK? If so are they just as relentlessly cynical and negative when working with other independent activists and organisations in person? Or do they just snipe from the sidelines without getting involved?

The SEP just wants people to protest by calling a general strike, and then they'll try to use that to get pro-socialism concessions at the same time.

From WSWS.org:

Socialism means the abolition of all forms of inequality and exploitation. The fight for socialism is at the same time a fight against war, authoritarianism, environmental degradation and all the consequences of capitalist society.

Socialism must be fought for and won by the working class itself. It will be achieved only through a revolutionary movement that has as its aim the establishment of workers’ power.

y’all Brits probably need it rn. Labour is beyond fucked next election, and unless the left builds something meaningfully distinct from their rot, you’ll continue falling rightwards like us Americans did. The only saving grace will be that it probably won’t be as dramatic.
