I support your plan to end the war in Gaza which achieves our war aims.

Uhm, who wouldn’t support an end which archives their war aims? Putin has said many times that the war would be over in an instant if the Ukraine would just give up.

Having said that, if this really stops the genocide then I would be really surprised but also very thankful and it would be one of the very few pluses on Trumps side in my book.

Mrkawfee@lemmy.world on 29 Sep 2025 22:29 collapse

It takes its inspiration from the PLO withdrawal of Beirut in 1982. The difference is in that case the Lebanese population wanted them gone whereas in Gaza, Hamas is the government and popular resistance movement against the Zionists.

Even if Hamas comply and, assuming the defenceless, surviving population isn’t ethnically cleansed, the Zionist regime won’t allow the Palestinian Authority to take over governing Gaza until Israel thinks they’re ready, which judging by the last 30 years of Oslo, will be never.

Its not peace its a recipe for endless conflict.

Like all of Trumps micturations this will be forgotten by next week but the Zionists will have the political shield to keep murdering the surviving population.

Also I’m pretty sure this is a cover for the real reason Netayanahu is in town, to plot the next war in Iran.

Wish it had more firm guarantees for the Palestinians. It’s a bit too soft on the prospect of a Palestinian state. Better than what Trump was saying earlier this year at least…

Mrkawfee@lemmy.world on 29 Sep 2025 22:38 collapse

Netanyahu explicitly said there will never be a Palestinian state.

Archangel1313@lemmy.ca on 29 Sep 2025 21:32 next collapse

Even if Hamas does accept these terms, I highly doubt Israel will honor any of it. The only outcome they seem willing to accept, involves the total surrender of all Palestinian land and the relocation of the population.

Jimbabwe@lemmy.world on 30 Sep 2025 03:51 next collapse

Even if “relocation” means shuffling off this mortal coil

Fyrnyx@kbin.melroy.org on 30 Sep 2025 06:03 next collapse

Israel never did honor anything. The intent and message was very clear: Kill all and any non-Israelis, especially Palestinians.

CannonFodder@lemmy.world on 30 Sep 2025 11:39 next collapse

What percent of the non-Israelis / Palestinian people in Gaza have they killed?

avidamoeba@lemmy.ca on 30 Sep 2025 15:41 collapse

Earlier this year the estimate was around 4- 5% of the population. It has only gotten higher since.

Doorbook@lemmy.world on 30 Sep 2025 16:41 collapse

They literally kills Israelis as well. People pretend that a “a Jewish state” is different than “an Islamic State” it is the same as they drive the laws from extreme views. And that’s why they talk publicly about “human sacrifice for the greater good.”

jimmy90@lemmy.world on 01 Oct 2025 10:47 collapse

it states that “no one will be forced to leave Gaza” and if anyone does, they would be free to return

Allowed to return after Trump builds his resort and condos.

fluxion@lemmy.world on 29 Sep 2025 22:16 next collapse

Damn Trump is amazing he ended the war in Gaza 3 or 4 times in less than a year

Mrkawfee@lemmy.world on 29 Sep 2025 22:25 next collapse

Disgusting. Genocidal thieves dressing up their murderous colonisation as peace. The US and israel are rogue regimes.

Non-voters don’t get to complain. You abandoned your right to an opinion on this in November, stupid fucks.

Dragonstaff@leminal.space on 30 Sep 2025 11:12 collapse

What the holy fuck are you talking about?

You’re highjacking a.thread about a genocide to bitch about an election a year ago. STFU.

CannonFodder@lemmy.world on 30 Sep 2025 11:47 collapse

The genocide was enabled by trump. If you didn’t vote against him when you could have, you are complicit in the genocide. It’s relevant because if the U.S. ever gets elections again, people need to wake the fuck up and vote against trump.

Your point?

We could not vote against Trump.

Even if it ends somehow, Israel has blood on their hands. The Israel Government is complicit and the 70-some percent odd Israeli populace who actually thought what the government was doing was OKAY to have been doing, they're complicit too.

Fuck. Israel.

Long may they be a pariah state, if a state at all.

Bruncvik@lemmy.world on 30 Sep 2025 12:47 next collapse

Can anyone actually think of a case where governments acted on what they promised Trump? To me it looks like everyone’s humoring him with “sure, whatever you say,” and then going on with their daily business. I would trust promises made to Trump about as much as I’d trust Trump himself.

Of course he does. It is a “Hamas surrenders unconditionally” kind of deal.

A unilateral peace deal is a declaration of war by another name.
