Is it right for the Kremlin to describe Ukraine’s European supporters as “warmongers” given that it is Russia which made its own choice to start a war with Ukraine?

Some will be some not. However, there is a very simple way to avoid war, don’t invade other countries.
Many in “the west” will see it as a good thing to use Ukraine to weaken Russia, as such I would classify them as warmongers.
Still many others in “the west” simply see it as helping someone asking for help to fight off someone else invading them.
The geopolitically fuelled hypocrisy of doing this purely for Ukraine against Russia instead of also, for example, Palestine or Iran. Is the largest argument for classifying some of it as warmongering.
Once again though, the Russians are the same in this case. So either side pretending to be on some moral high ground is… Questionable, when in fact it’s largely just realpolitik.
For the record, I live in the EU and I am happy for us to continue supporting Ukraine in whatever way we can as long as they themselves want to keep up the fight. We should understand no circumstances foment or pressure them to continue fighting if they do not want to.
