before people start making this about U.S and evangelism, i would like to ask is rule 1 enforced on comments?

Rule 1 clearly says “posts have the following requirements”.

The fact that women’s rights are a topic at all is a sign of improvement.

What a coincidence, so is the US Government.

How long do you think before theres a article calling the Taliban suffrage breakaway group woke?

If I was a person living in Afghanistan, I would ask myself: “is it our choice to remain poor and not achieve better living conditions?”. If yes, no need to give anyone education. If no, giving a maximum of people the best education that local resources allow, it has helped other countries…

Imagine being so bad on women's rights that even the Taliban oppose you.

arguing that even if girls’ education wasn’t a religious obligation, it was at least permissible.

Islam is pretty clear that Muslim leaders must act in the best interests of their people, so... uh... it is, in fact, a religious obligation. Not that these idiots care, but still.

Imagine being so right wing that even the Telegraph oppose you.

Islam, like every religion out there, is what whoever interprets it to be. If some asshole wants to interpret Islam to use women as sex slaves, then so be it. If another one interprets it to allow women to be equals, so be it.

So what happens? Assholes use religion to easily steer large groups of citizens to do their bidding. A tale as old as humanity

Sadly true. Christians have interpreted their faith to allow slavery, wars, and genocide. Generally the loudest that claim they follow a faith are the ones that least understand it.
