In our latest documentary, From Cuba to Calabria, we follow Cuban doctors as they travel from the island to work in public hospitals in one of Italy’s poorest regions. The film offers a rare inside look at a Cuban medical mission, letting the doctors speak for themselves about why they volunteer to leave their families and travel thousands of miles to care for patients in another country.

“National Security” is the excuse when they don’t have an actual reason or don’t have any evidence of what they are claiming.
Do not, my fellow Americans, get addicted to health care. It will take hold of you, and you will resent its absence.
In my experience, the American medical community has had the highest respect for cuban physicians for decades. I would guess the same for classic car enthusiasts, and friendly rednecks who make boats out of non-boat materials from the junkyard.
