Very roughly, the plan to get rid of fossil fuels looks like:
- Generate electricity without burning stuff
- electrify everything we can
- Stop doing the few things we can’t electrify
So this is a big deal in terms of getting where we need to go.

Any serious country would want to wean itself off of the geopolitical risks of depending on fossil fuels.
Especially China because its oil supply is basically at America's mercy in a serious military conflict.
Except they can get oil from Russia.
