Amnesty International condemns the deliberate killings of Al-Jazeera journalists, including Anas Al Sharif (www.amnesty.org.au)

Amnesty International Australia mourns the deaths of Al-Jazeera journalists killed by Israel in a targeted strike on their tent near al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, including Anas Al-Sharif. Others, Anas Mohammed Qreiqeh, and camera operators Ibrahim Zaher, Mohammed Noufal, and Moamen Aliwa, were deliberately assassinated by Israeli forces, who have publicly claimed responsibility.

Claims made by Israel forces about Al-Sharif are entirely unsubstantiated and without evidence. It follows a pattern of similar claims and threats.

Israeli forces have repeatedly branded journalists, aid workers, and healthcare workers in Gaza as “terrorists”, a pattern that has enabled the deliberate targeting and killing of these individuals with complete impunity.

just a reminder- everything a “nation state” like israel or the us or any does is deliberate. there is no such thing as an accidental discharge of a weapon, only negligence and negligence is deliberate.

lobbing a bomb into the air is deliberate.

targeting a building is deliberate.

targeting a journalist is deliberate.

lying and saying they were hamas is deliberate.

I’d argue that there are still plenty of accidents. But your second, third, fourth, and fifth points are all spot on. This particular killing reeks of deliberate orders being given and followed.

The actual accidents, usually involve equipment failure, and the people killed are almost always the people using said equipment.

Let me guess, a strongly worded letter that condemns the killing.

I mean, what else can they do? Edit: The job of Amnesty International and similar organizations is to keep us informed; it's up to us, armed with this information, to act to stop this madness. The fact that their strongly worded letters don't lead to change is completely on us.

No doubt the various “unwavering supporters of Israel” in governments in the West admire that nation for the way they deal with those pesky journalists telling everybody else what’s really going on and wish they could do the same.
