Ok, you want to cut the quality of food with something cheaper. Why pick leaded paint? Does your cousin at the poison factory have too much waste sitting around at the right price? Bingo! Just stir it in.

Why not add flour, or even just sugar?

It’s fine. Surely nobody you know will feed it to their kids.

Here’s a different take on the affair. He’s suggesting the real cause is groundwater pollution, which would explain why the authorities go to such extreme lengths to cover it up. While this guy certainly has an axe to grind, I’ve found he’s more or less credible.
