Maybe a concept of a plan.

AmidFuror@fedia.io on 01 Mar 06:08 next collapse

Y'all are eulogizing Khamenei over on lemmy.ml?

Pratai@piefed.ca on 01 Mar 07:18 next collapse

Did you expect different behavior from them?

geneva_convenience@lemmy.ml on 01 Mar 09:18 collapse

Lemmy.world pretending to be against war but then celebrating it is so on-brand.

PrettyFlyForAFatGuy@feddit.uk on 01 Mar 09:48 next collapse

You can be against the US and it’s allies starting another war in the middle east plunging us into another multi decade quagmire AND you can be happy that that Islamist despot khomenini got the roof caved in on his ugly head

They’re not mutually exclusive

geneva_convenience@lemmy.ml on 01 Mar 14:47 collapse

“You can be against war but also for the things that happen because of war”

PrettyFlyForAFatGuy@feddit.uk on 01 Mar 21:29 collapse

Correct, for some things.

Like Khomeini being buried alive for example.

The world is a better place for it.

I hope he was scared

geneva_convenience@lemmy.ml on 01 Mar 21:33 collapse

You are sure happy the only party opposing genocide was killed.

PrettyFlyForAFatGuy@feddit.uk on 01 Mar 21:58 collapse

I’m happy the guy who ordered the killing of tens of thousands of protesters, was himself killed, yes.

His stance on Genocide does not factor into my assessment of him

Hitler was a vegetarian who loved dogs… was still a cunt

hoch@lemmy.world on 01 Mar 09:49 collapse

I’m anti-war, but I’m not going to lose sleep at night over a tyrannical leader getting bombed.

grte@lemmy.ca on 01 Mar 17:41 collapse

What about the school children?

Siegfried@lemmy.world on 01 Mar 06:53 collapse

Thanks mods for blocking lm, i fear what is written on those comments

wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz on 01 Mar 15:30 collapse

Top-level comment was framing him as a feminist and had what I assume was a screengrab from his social media picturing an “inspirational” photo of a wheat field at sunrise with a muslim supplication about being sinful and repentant and asking god not to turn his face away like he rightfully does from his other servants.

Tankies hate religion except for when it’s an anti-western theocratic dictator’s religion.

FaceDeer@fedia.io on 01 Mar 04:07 next collapse

They've got the tiger by the tail now, then. Either the US and Israel pursue this all the way through to full regime change, or when they finally withdraw they're going to be left with an implacable enemy for generations.

I'm sure Trump thought this all through in thorough detail, though, and has a long-term plan.

Dragomus@lemmy.world on 01 Mar 04:21 next collapse

Yeah about that, he already “promised” the Islamic republican guard full immunity, you know those guys brutally slaughtering peaceful demonstrators…

FaceDeer@fedia.io on 01 Mar 04:36 next collapse

Ah, less than a day into the fight and Trump is already frantically looking for a way to TACO.

ryannathans@aussie.zone on 01 Mar 04:55 collapse

Got a reliable source on that slaughter of peaceful people that isn’t just a mouthpiece for the US/Israeli agenda?

AmidFuror@fedia.io on 01 Mar 06:04 next collapse

Who would you believe if they were saying something you didn't want to be true?

Siegfried@lemmy.world on 01 Mar 06:50 collapse

aljazeera.com/…/at-least-3117-people-killed-durin…

Iranian state television has released the first official death toll from the recent antigovernment protests that engulfed the country, reporting that 3,117 people were killed during the crackdown.

That was the official number by 2026/01/21

ryannathans@aussie.zone on 01 Mar 08:13 collapse

That’s a few but the comment was that they were peaceful protestors. This makes no mention of peaceful protestors. We know that Mossad were arming people and firing upon IRGC so there’s no surprise there’s a death toll in the thousands

midas22@lemmy.wtf on 01 Mar 10:01 next collapse

Go to reddit.com/r/newiran and ask for some examples.

Typotyper@sh.itjust.works on 01 Mar 10:42 collapse

Do we know the mossad was arming people. Do you have a credible source and not a mouth piece news organization

ryannathans@aussie.zone on 01 Mar 12:04 collapse

Israel’s own twitter account

sukhmel@programming.dev on 01 Mar 19:57 collapse

That you can link here?

venusaur@lemmy.world on 01 Mar 04:27 next collapse

Yeah plan is Israel takes whatever land they want, US removes their nuclear capabilities, bleeds them dry of resources/oil, tries to instate some puppet leader and then bounces only to let them fall into another awful dictatorship and the cycle continues.

Hubi@feddit.org on 01 Mar 09:09 collapse

If you think that Israel will take land from Iran you better double-check where these countries are on the map.

Spezi@feddit.org on 01 Mar 09:39 next collapse

Duh, they can just build a bridge over Jordan and Iraque

venusaur@lemmy.world on 01 Mar 10:42 collapse

You don’t think countries can exist non-contiguously?

Hubi@feddit.org on 01 Mar 10:53 collapse

Not in this neighborhood, no.

venusaur@lemmy.world on 01 Mar 11:09 collapse

Israel has no reason not to try it with US support. I’m sure they’d love to establish some territory to the east and then squeeze to the middle.

Hubi@feddit.org on 01 Mar 11:23 collapse

It literally makes zero sense for Israel to claim hostile territory over 2000 kilometers away when the US already has numerous bases in the surrounding countries.

venusaur@lemmy.world on 01 Mar 15:44 collapse

Maybe they’ll just work their way east then starting with Lebanon and Jordan.

Hubi@feddit.org on 01 Mar 16:27 collapse

Sure, and maybe aliens will come to Earth and just teleport the entirety of Iran to Israel’s doorstep.

thethrilloftime69@feddit.online on 01 Mar 05:26 next collapse

The last time they installed a regime in Iran they created an enemy for generations.

Buffalox@lemmy.world on 01 Mar 08:41 next collapse

I’m sure that last line was sarcasm. 🤣

Buffalox@lemmy.world on 01 Mar 08:43 next collapse

I don’t think an unpopular regime leader that oppressed the people for 37 years will become a martyr for very many people.

Triasha@lemmy.world on 01 Mar 09:25 collapse

He probably will be a. Martyr for all the people that were fighting the protestors to keep him in power.

radiofreebc@lemmy.world on 01 Mar 09:18 collapse

It creates a narrative for a retaliation attack (fake or real, doesn’t matter) that will shock America into forgetting about the Epstein Files. Whoever controls the release of those files holds Trump literally by his balls.

vga@sopuli.xyz on 01 Mar 09:35 next collapse

Good. Although I’m afraid not very efficient in the grand scale. Their whole system won’t probably collapse because of the death of a single scumbag, however important he might have seemed.

There do remain the fanatics, and they’re not going to change their ways, they’ll just pick a successor after running Iran by committee.
