What humans do to one another…

penquin@lemm.ee on 23 Nov 2023 15:26 collapse

Yup, this idea always rings in my head. Why do humans do shit like this to each other knowing full well they’ll eventually die and be nothing?

Haagel@lemmings.world on 23 Nov 2023 19:19 collapse

Perhaps because they think that they will die and be nothing and therefore they’re right to accumulate as much as possible in this life, nevermind the cost to the environment and to humanity.

It seems to me that YOLO is a fearful mode of being, and as we know people do terrible things when they’re afraid.

Just to add, but Milei and his party wants to pardon the militaries that are currently on prison for crimes against humanity during the dictatorship.

Hermano, no soy fan de milei, pero eso es basura de la campaña presidencial. Nunca dijeron eso.

On a side note, what the fuck happened with the police assaulting Argentines in Rio? Whats the brasilian take on that event? Also, i loved watching el Dibu fighting back the police but i seriously feel like conmebol should have reprimanded us

Vos de verdad no crees que ellos no quieren hacer eso? El loco niega que hubieron más de 30.000 desaparecidos amigo, obvio que va a querer perdonar a esos hps.

I love the “let’s switch from English for a sec before we continue to talk about local politics, just to make sure we’re both from here” thing, and I’ve never been so convinced so quickly that someone was Argentinian than when you started the sentence with “vos”

The kidnapped employees were union members who were protesting workplace mistreatment and calling for higher salaries. They were illegally detained for supposedly defrauding the company and taken to a police station, where they were tortured.

Which republican candidate do you think is most likely to suggest this as policy this election?

douglasg14b@lemmy.world on 23 Nov 2023 18:00 collapse

Definitely the one Republicans will vote for.

Sounds like the workers should have killed this guy when they got out.
