Me 5 years ago: “Man olive oil sure is expensive, it’s twice the price of the cheapest canola!”

You sweet ignorant child.

Olive oil is pretty much the only oil everyone in my house can have. We’ve done butter and ghee but it’s not the right flavor for most things.

Sesame is too expensive. I hate the taste of avocado oil.

Vegetable oil is straight up soy which I’m allergic to.

Basically it’s olive oil or butter for me.

I fucking hate this timeline.

What about canola/rapeseed oil? It’s so neutral, it adds no flavor. It also has a smoke point similar to, but slightly higher, than olive oil.

Sunflower oil is another possibility.

Sun flower or rapeseed oil not a thing over there? Both taste pretty neutral and are really cheap
