How many of their nukes do you think would just explode on the launch pad.

Russia recently did do an icbm test that exploded in the silo. amp.theguardian.com/…/russias-new-sarmat-ballisti…

It left a 60m crater lol.

A lot hopefully

I know it’s just a transport aircraft but $4.5m seems like a pretty square deal for a military plane.

Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world on 20 Dec 15:15 next collapse

That’s a pretty arbitrary figure. Neither is that thing available on any sort of free market, nor does anybody have any idea how much it would cost to replace.

TachyonTele@lemm.ee on 20 Dec 15:37 collapse

Yeah it seems odd to focus on the cost in a headline. What the craft did should be more important.

Nomecks@lemmy.ca on 20 Dec 15:42 collapse

That’s gotta be the world’s most worthless passenger plane.

floofloof@lemmy.ca on 20 Dec 15:06 next collapse

That’s a very cheap plane, based on my occasional “I wonder how much x costs?” internet searches.

Pilot couldn’t help themselves. they pressed the “Do Not Press This Button” button.

I thought about your comment more than I care to admit, but my conclusion is that in this case it is probably not likely because of the cost of the plane.

Kyrgizion@lemmy.world on 20 Dec 15:23 collapse

You’re kidding, but look up the first “successful” seat ejection from a standstill. The cockpit was designed so badly that the steering wheel or w/e actually hooked on the release trigger for the ejection seat, ejecting a pilot while still on the ground. Ahh, those Russians.

Ukraine beating their previous record of taking out Russian hardware with one shot.

Might be that cheap because ruble is in the trash
