Wow, a rare moment of clarity for Trump?

PP_BOY_@lemmy.world on 02 Jun 11:07 next collapse

It’s an unsourced alleged phone call from a British rag. I’m really not holding my breath on this one

Nick@mander.xyz on 02 Jun 13:05 collapse

If it makes you feel better, it’s not originally from a British rag, it’s actually from White House mouthpiece Barak Ravid at Axios! The same “reporter” who’s been edging the public for months about an Iran agreement being imminent to help manipulate the market every few days. So I’m sure it’s true :)

I remember reading a news article about Lindsey Graham who aggressively pushed Trump to attack Iran, while traveling to Israel to get “coached” on how to sell this.

Republican U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina has been exposed by the Wall Street Journal for “coaching” a foreign leader on how to influence Donald Trump.

The WSJ ahead of the weekend published a story called, “Lindsey Graham’s Quest to Sell Trump on Striking Iran.” In that piece, there is a nugget about the senator engaging in a campaign to help Netanyahu to persuade Trump to launch an Iran war. […]

“To help make the case on Iran, Graham traveled several times to Israel in recent weeks, meeting with members of the country’s intelligence agency,” the Journal reported Friday. […]

The report further states, “He spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, coaching him on how to lobby the president for action. Netanyahu showed the president intelligence that persuaded Trump to go ahead, Graham said.” (source: msn, mention WSJ article, archived WSJ article)

Honestly, the fact the Graham openly talks about this is just insane. I guess this shit isn’t illegal, nor does it make people question you…

There is no such a thing as Netenyahu controlling the USA or Trump. Trump is a scum who want to enrich himself and his family with wars and conflicts and also serve american imperialist interests in the middle east

FistingEnthusiast@lemmy.world on 02 Jun 12:47 next collapse

I’m older than many here

Old enough to remember when things happened, and occasionally Mossad would be implicated, but what had happened always served US interests somehow

The ledger is long, and has been filling for decades, always with the understanding that those debts would be repaid

The US always ponies up when they’re going to be embarrassed, but they bit off more than they can chew, and their attack dog slipped the leash decades ago

Israel and Zionists have always been experts at weaponised victimhood

mrdown@lemmy.dbzer0.com on 02 Jun 13:35 next collapse

You should be old enough to know that Netanyahu was a hardliner and opposed the Oslo accords although those accords was beneficials to Israel. It allowed them to colonize more swiftly and discretely Palestinian land. Netanyahu wanted to keep the fast way of colonization but American forced him to accept.

There is many other time where Israel listened to the USA because there was real threat if withdrawing some kind of support .

Israel withdrew from the Sinai Peninsula and Gaza Strip. when President Eisenhower threatened to cut off all U.S. aid and support, and considered imposing UN sanctions.

In 1991 Israel refrained from direct military retaliation to Saddam launching missiles to keep the to avoid undermining the U.S.-led Arab coalition against Saddam Intact.

The middle east was the most important region for empires for centuries . The USA control of the straight and trade routes would be an amazing leverage against Russia and China. That’s why the USA also backed Saudi Arabia proxies in Yemen to control beb el mendeb . The war on Iran was definitely serving both Israel and the USA imperialist interests not national interests . The failure to win a war do not mean the bad intentions was not there.

If Israel control the USA then there would be no negotiations with Iran. The full scale war will continue. If trump was blackmailed he would easily give the west bank officially to Israel like he did with the Golan heights .

FistingEnthusiast@lemmy.world on 02 Jun 13:48 collapse

You’re so close

I lived through all of that

I laughed when the US went into Iraq when Kuwait slant drilled into their fields and were surprised to be shot at with US weapons

And again when Dubya did what his handlers told him to do

It’s not that Israel controls the US.

They’ve been a useful tool for the West, including the UK for decades, but the power balance changed

The Mossad did dirty work for the West, not just 'Murica

But, Israel might be cruel and vicious, but they were clever, and they did what they did to ensure that they would always enjoy the support of the governments they did the things for that they could not do themselves

That has now shifted, and sharply

Between Kushner, Epstein and others, it’s not about leveraging 'Murica, it’s about leveraging Trump

And the whole world will have to deal with it, unfortunately

I’m not a hundred percent sure with your first statement, but I agree with the rest. My (quibbling) disagreement is: from over here it looks like he’s not being controlled per se, he’s being successfully manipulated using the levers and motivations you described. not blackmail. They didn’t need to do that. Might not have been able to, as Krasnov’s reputation is such I doubt it’s possible to slander him. In this case overall it’s I think a distinction with little difference for those of us plebes but with all the difference for those in the national and international politics game.

During Biden

70% of all structures in Gaza were damaged or destroyed
92% of all housing units destroyed or damaged 88% of school buildings were damaged or destroyed
80% of key water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) facilities
Only 16 out of 36 hospitals were partially functioning, facing critical shortages of fuel, medicine, and clean water.
75% of agricultural land, including orchards and greenhouses, was damaged or destroyed

Biden lied about working on cease fire. He blamed hamas for the failure when the issue ws Israel. Both Trump and Biden bypassed thr congress teice to give more weapons to the terrorist state. The numbers of killed Palestinian was also higher during Biden

In this instance, it’s a perfectly reasonable comparison. Both Trump and Biden are/were deeply connected to the Zionist project of Israel and support it unequivocally.

To try and somewhat mitigate backlash from voters, they leak or hint that they are furious with Netanyahu behind the scenes but nevertheless continue to approve a never-ending stream of money and military equipment to Israel to continue their destruction, mass killing and ethnic cleansing.
