It sickens me to the core what kind of monsters we have in European governments, and that people still believe we live in freedom with things like this happening. I am not a violent person and I would be unable to do anything but join a protest, but reading how the UK government is handling this I can’t help but wish all responsible politicians drop dead.

If the demand is simply to follow pre-existing procedures and not creating human rights violations, you’re still gonna bootlick the UK government and say they’re allowed to create arbitrary rules to detain people for long period of times? After breaking through, the activists entered the facility. Inside, they used tools including sledgehammers, crowbars and fire extinguishers filled with red paint to vandalise equipment, walls, and floors. According to the prosecution at their later trial, they damaged drones, technical systems and other sensitive materials, and sprayed red paint to symbolise “blood.”[2] It’s estimated over £1 million in damages were caused to the facility.

During the break-in, there was a violent confrontation between the activists and responding security staff and police. Bodycam and CCTV footage shown at trial allegedly depicts one of the activists striking Police Sergeant Kate Evans with a sledgehammer while she was on the ground, causing serious injury. The defendant, a then 23-year-old man, is charged with grievous bodily harm. Other police officers reported being threatened and, in one account, having a hammer swung at them.

Not too dissimilar to how one of the officers struck a protestor with a sledgehammer mere seconds before.

The officer was signed off for 3 months. For a back injury. That’s nothing as back injuries go. The other officer that they tried to spin as also brutally mauled by barbarian terrorists wasn’t even taken to hospital because the injuries were so superficial. This is so clearly an attempt by the police and government to spin one action done in the heat of the moment in an act of self defence as the premeditated actions of an entire group.

Even if the intention was to grievously harm an officer, GBH is not terrorism. GBH by one member does not reflect the entire group and its intentions. If that were the case then the police are also a terrorist organisation (wait… actually…)
