Just wait until they pass on the cost of increased insurance premiums with a Nuclear Zone Fee

Imagine if the money both nations spent on killing each other went to improving each other’s infrastructure.

Wars would end overnight.

Your comment made me think of a video my wife showed me last week. I’m linking to an article about it, but the article contains a link to the video, which is hosted on X.

Yeah wow great.

What a goddamn headline.

Oh no its fine you see, flying through an actively radioactive cloud/plume is uh… uh, maybe, technically allowable, therefore perfectly safe =D

Holy dear lord this species is actively Great Filtering itself in realtime, what an era to be alive in.

I don’t think it’s wise to normalize the use of nuclear weapons by saying it will be business as usual for passenger flights.

We’ve seen how normalizing illegal invasions and occupations leads to genocide. We’ve seen how stripping away personal freedoms leads to authoritarian rule.

The use of nuclear weapons, even tactical warheads, will break the taboo that has been in place since 1945 and will encourage other actors to use them. Unleashing a chain of events which may very well end civilization.

Yeah, that’s all true, but on the other hand there’ll probably be a lot of money to be made for a while there, so who’s to say whether it’s bad or good overall.
