To me that’s basically saying they should be blocking both platforms

I’m sure they’ve seen what he did to Xitter. “Uh, no thanks, we’re good.”

Huh?

You’re going to 100% trust what tiktok says? Tiktok also says they are independent from China and don’t sell your data.

Twitter also denied reports Musk was offering to buy them before it became public.

I’ll take their word before I trust American mainstream media.

Also, there are no boomers here to fear monger with your “sell your data” nonsense.

FundMECFSResearch@lemmy.blahaj.zone on 14 Jan 15:26 collapse

sell your data nonsense.

you have to be extremely oblivious to ignore that or claim it’s a “boomer” issue. It affects everyone.

I got you doing a silly dance and it’s hilarious.

It’s naive to think this is an issue unique to TikTok. If Congress actually cared about your data they would create legislation to protect it on all platforms rather than banning one. Another platform will pop up over the next week. You probably haven’t thought that far ahead. Probably busy buying land on the moon and checking the worth of your beanie baby collection.

What dance move do you have now?

FundMECFSResearch@lemmy.blahaj.zone on 14 Jan 19:01 collapse

This is so confusing.

All I did was share a news article about Musk and Tiktok and then say your dismissal of data privacy as a non-issue is untrue.

And now you’ve strawmanned me to say data privacy issues are unique to tiktok and that I’m in favour of the ban. I never said either of those things. Go find someone else to argue with.
