It used to be āattacking germany would mean attacking the US soldiers thereā which was supposed to be a deterrent. But now the US soldiers are the danger themselves so its really stupid that Trump would think that germany would still want them.
Well, for a very long time Germany didnāt have a choice š and then it became a ok we will barely have a military because we have us soldiers here. (Which was considered a good thing by everyone in the world forā¦ Historical reasons)
Germany isnāt really getting anything out of it, itās essentially a form of military aid to the US.
There is a common misconception among conspiracy/imbecile circles (and hence also the administration) in the US that these US military bases are a crucial part of the local economy, and that dismantling them is a way to āpunishā allies that display a lack of servility.
