Once we start geoengineering, though, stopping may be difficult.

I am confident that humanity will not forever forswear geoengineering.

We can deforest continents or increase the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. We are capable enough now to have large-scale impact. To not geoengineer would be to simply say “our only impacts must be unplanned”.
