Preconditions are how you prevent peace.
Preconditions for only one side are how you show support for the other side’s atrocities.
"Give up all your leverage and then maybe we'll negotiate."
It’s telling that all you think of the hostages is that they are leverage.
I don’t think you understand how paraphrasing works
Kidnapping, raping, murdering, torturing CIVILIANS is what started this war on Hamas.
Israel was already acting assuming the hostages are dead. US in the other hand has policy to always go after their people and that would mean either working with Israel to search for them or send own special forces, or both).
US doesn’t have any benefit with this conflict (the beneficiaries of it are Russia and Iran which likely helped start it) so as long as the hostages are freed the only motivation for US world be to calm Israel down.
If Israel is mad at the Israeli settlers why are they attacking Palestine?
There are no settlers in Gaza, are you perhaps confusing it for the west bank, where israel continues to build settlements on occupied territory in flagrant violation of the geneva conventions?
