I mean, the US sends billions per year to Israel with a cumulative total just under $300 billion in aid?

That’s the beauty of asymmetric warfare, you can cost your enemy a lot with far fewer resources. Iran still sucks for sending this money, but until Israel changes conditions for regular Palestinians they’ll face violence with or without that money coming in.

Netanyahu is a far right authoritarian, and they need an enemy to point to. So his government helps Hamas while hurting civilians so they join Hamas.
