Yet the regime is unwilling to seize this “golden opportunity.” The reason must be sought in the fundamental nature of the Islamic Republic itself. It is a totalitarian system of religious fascism that neither can nor wants to guide society toward growth and development. Its survival is defined through the creation and maintenance of continuous external crises.
What? The golden opportunity they previously had with a country that’s currently bombing them? The country who unilaterally ended the previous deal so they could bomb them… That deal?
This article is devoid of good faith arguments or anything seemingly close to logic. Not only did the US unilaterally end the last deal they made, they murdered anyone in the country who would have been willing to negotiate a new one. Of course they aren’t going to fall over themselves to negotiate with someone whose guarantees are completely meaningless. They can’t even control their rabid attack dog from attacking their neighbors for more than a week.
The western iranian sites are financed by sausi arabia. They are propaganda websites. Since the crime against humanity of blowing up water facilities I noticed plenty of propaganda against Iran on lemmy.

Iran might not trust the US to store the enriched uranium. The US might refuse to issue it to Iran even for peaceful purposes. Also, if the US breaks the deal, Iran would be unable to develop a nuclear weapon. Iran might agree to have the enriched uranium stored by countries such as Russia, China, and Pakistan.
