Is the fire that bad ? Or is it due to Marseille airport also being the base for fire-fighting plane ?

The fire is pretty bad, it reached the city and they had to interrupt all train traffic towards and from Marseille and Nice because of it. Not sure if the airport is a base of operation, but the smoke is really thick, and I’m not sure planes can safely fly through that.

Both, Canadairs have been flying near the runways for hours, refueled at the airports and took water near the runways (but usually that’s okay, because they try to stay out of the way).
