Typical conservative. Those they deem beneath them, are expendable.

Dude in the back was like “WTF, asshole? We deal with this from cartels, now you too?”

Why does the UK ambassador to Mexico carry an assault rifle in their vehicle in the first place?

wewbull@feddit.uk on 01 Jun 2024 15:25 next collapse

I can well believe that security staff in such a vehicle would have weapons like that.

I suspect it’s a situation where somebody with no gun awareness picked up a weapon he wasn’t supposed to as a very badly thought out joke. If so, I have no problem with somebody who has that kind of judgement being recalled.

Rough neighborhood.

Benjamin was on a work trip to a northwestern Mexican region plagued by drug cartel violence when the incident happened, the Financial Times reported.

Foreign officials often travel with bodyguards when visiting danger zones in Mexico, it noted.

Uh, what?

I doubt there are any political types in Mexico that don’t travel with security and powerful guns

You answered your own question there.

Because Mexico has a wee bit of a gang murder problem.
