MILWAUKEE (AP) — The FBI on Friday arrested a Wisconsin county judge accused of helping a man avoid immigration enforcement, Director Kash Patel said.

Patel made the announcement in a post on X and said his office believes Judge Hannah Dugan “intentionally misdirected federal agents away from the subject to be arrested in her courthouse.”

If ICE is going to play letter-of-the-law, it’s time to hold entire command trees of agents and supervisors in contempt until citizens are retrieved. If they want to fill pre-trial jails, let’s fill them with people breaking the law pending an investigation of their conduct.

His name is Patel, through his own action there will be no one left to object when they come for him.

Funny how both the president and VP both married immigrants or people of color, and he staffs his admin with people of color who are empowering neo Nazi freaks, who will throw them under the bus when things get bad.

This shit happens over and over again, and they never learn. Why can’t people just be normal? Marry who you love, then don’t go out of your way to be a fucking asshole.

From what I can gather, they showed up without a judicial warrant and basically tried to arrest this guy during a hearing. No shit the judge overseeing the hearing is going to have a problem with that, morons. This also isn't the first Trump prosecution of a judge for immigration bullshit, but that one got taken care of during Biden administratio. In a shitty way, instead of flat out dismissal, the judge had to promise to do some sort of training/education on the matter. Ridiculous.

LordCrom@lemmy.world on 25 Apr 20:45 next collapse

Go look at how Fox news is spinning this. Saying the Judge should be in jail, that 85% of people support incarceration for judges who don’t go gung ho for ICE and any means necessary to deport anyone they want.

It’s disgusting, and their comment section and filled with this ignorance

I wonder, hypothetically, if ICE could continue to effectively do its job under mild conditions of area denial and defense in depth… e.g. if their vehicles, wherever they are found, would run a high chance of getting blocked in by careless people parking other vehicles in unfathomable ways, while some percentage of vehicles found in more private locations experience an increased risk of vandalism…
