The article’s title is:

Iran’s women’s team decline to sing national anthem before Asian Cup tie

The post title made it sound like they are disrespecting South Korea or something…

How? A team never sings their oppositions anthem, do they?

Endmaker@ani.social on 03 Mar 16:47 collapse

I know. It’s just that the phrasing is kinda weird.

What makes you think it’s weird?

clot27@lemmy.zip on 03 Mar 12:57 collapse

Misleading headline. They were mourning the victims of israeli american aggression in Iran.

The article didn't say that, so are you saying it is a misleading article too?

Every member of the team stood silently, facing straight ahead, during the anthem prior to kick-off in their Group A match against South Korea, who went on to win 3-0 at the Gold Coast Stadium in Queensland. Iran’s head coach, Marziyeh Jafari, and her players declined to comment on either the war or the death of their long-serving leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, when asked by the media.

Sounds difficult to tell exactly what they are communicating, but certainly they are drawing attention / scrutiny to the situation.

Misleading headline.

No.

There is nothing misleading about the headline.

They were mourning the victims of israeli american aggression in Iran.

Actually, you should post "I believe they were morning" or "I think they were morning"

BananaLama@lemmy.ml on 03 Mar 19:06 collapse

It may not be misleading but the headline is ambiguous as for the reason they were silent.
