There’s no story here. The US blockade applies to ships going to/from Iranian ports, not everything passing through the strait.
Even if this blockade was a legitimate and legally authorized act of war, from a president who wasn’t Donald Trump, the USN would still let the Russian flagged civilian vessel through.
They would do the same thing for a Chinese superyacht as well.

There’s no story here. The US blockade applies to ships going to/from Iranian ports, not everything passing through the strait.
Even if this blockade was a legitimate and legally authorized act of war, from a president who wasn’t Donald Trump, the USN would still let the Russian flagged civilian vessel through.
They would do the same thing for a Chinese superyacht as well.
