Telecommunications equipment made by the company of Memphis Grizzlies owner Robert Pera is being used by the Russian military in its war against Ukraine, according to a report from Hunterbrook Media. Ubiquiti is a tech company that designs and sells long-range, wireless equipment . The company, based in New York City, was founded in 2003 by Pera, who became the owner of the Grizzlies in 2012.

This is piss poor “journalism”.

The company in question is Ubiquiti, maker of prosumer network hardware (switches, routers, access points, etc.).

While I don’t dismiss the possibility of this guy being a complete chud, Russia obtaining off the shelf hardware is a pretty weak (read: nonexistent) link to their war effort.

Agreed and also rather than saying “Russia is using Ubiquiti hardware” they led with a sports team, it’s so dumb

Grizzlies sounds like a bear specific version of Grindr.
