A few reasons. Not the least of which is that Cuba is a proven communist revolution in Americans anus
They seem to pretty much keep to themselves (largely because we force them to).
I dunno, I just really feel bad for Cuba these days. They have been going strong despite everything, and yet we still have to go out of our way to fuck with them. I just don’t get it.
Thats exactly right. They stand in stark opposition to the capitalist propaganda which states that it is the only economic model which can work. Cuba, despite literal terrorist sanctions, says: “look what communism can provide for its people despite the adversary”

They have had the embargo for 64 fucking years now. The fact the conservatives un-normalized relations after Obama is just bizarre. I thought it was pretty clear the embargo was a joke and we were finally ready to move on.
Not with the regressives though! Let’s turn back the clock and pretend with some cold war cosplay again. All the while the Cuban people suffer at the hands of the US while we pretend to be the good guys.
