It’s been longer than that a long time. Crimea was in 2014.

You can also add the Franco-German War to WW I then and if we’re at it also WW II as it was basically a continuatiom and direct result of WW I.
That does not mean that I don’t agree that the russian aggression has been going on since 2014. The war started when russian tanks started rolling towards Kyiv though.
The little green men with the Russian flags taken off their uniforms had been fighting Ukraine through all that intervening period since 2014 though whereas Germany and France hadn’t been actively shooting each other during all that intervening time.

Most conflicts have backstories. You are perfectly correct to state that the war started in 2014, but with the massive escalation in 2022 you could also state that the war started in 2022. Depends on how you look at it really. Ask anyone in the Donbas region and they’d probably agree with your take.

Wow, interesting to get a temporal feel for how long The Great War lasted. Lucky them that it ended sooner than this bullshit.
I wouldn’t exactly call them lucky. That was an absolutely devastating war.
No, no. Just time wise.
Yeah but some great movies were made off of it.
Lol that’s so dark.
Edit: unfortunately none of them lived to see one. 😞

Colloquially I think the distinction is the war started in 2014, but became full invasion in 2022.
