Honestly, I don’t see how the situation is rife with risk for Brazil. So long as he seems like he’s being a capable steward of S American peace and stability, that’s a win.
There’s some economic fallout, there’ll be refugees, disruption to local logistics and business, etc. But there’s also business opportunities in war profiteering, so two sides to that coin.
Frankly I think we should pull a carrier back from Israel and deploy one to the Guyanese coast. The calculus is already rough just because of all the undeveloped jungle in the way. An American task force in the area would change it further, and maybe leave Maduro sitting on a mobilized army that doesn’t have anywhere to go or anything to do except cost money. Training exercises maybe?
