Meanwhile I quizzically gaze at the birds sitting on the back of an alligator while it floats in front of me and I mull whether to trust the alligator to support me if I step out onto its back.

They have Literally just been betrayed by Trump in Syria, the smartest move would be to take the guns and tweet about how great their uprising while doing absolutely nothing.

supersquirrel@sopuli.xyz on 06 Mar 17:25 next collapse

Actually not a bad idea especially if they had some kind of backchannel communication with Iran where they made it clear they just wanted the weapons and were not actually going to invade because they knew it would be suicidal given that it is obvious Trump will betray the Kurds again.

How could Iran not see the logic in this?

RIotingPacifist@lemmy.world on 06 Mar 19:54 collapse

We’ll keep the weapons in Syria we promise

finally the kurds get the chance to do a bit of betrayal for once!

RedMari@reddthat.com on 06 Mar 17:53 next collapse

Then the U.S might just bomb them too.

Secretary Drunktank at the department of WAR will believe tweets over his own generals though.

Did you see the “war room” for the Maduro abduction it was mostly social media.

theolodis@feddit.org on 06 Mar 20:49 collapse

They should just tweet AI slop of them fighting

Surely the scorpion has learned its lesson and won't sting this time.

robocall@lemmy.world on 06 Mar 18:05 next collapse

The Kurds have been betrayed by America like 9 times. Surely the 10th time will be different.

4am@lemmy.zip on 06 Mar 22:39 collapse

Didn’t Trump betray them in his last term?

Exeous@lemmy.world on 06 Mar 18:25 next collapse

I see lot of “no Trump trust”. I say agree. Trump no honest person. USA no trust.

Make fake ai social media.

MintyFresh@lemmy.world on 06 Mar 18:47 next collapse

If they’re smart they will “mull it over” till this whole thing blows over. No point on getting on that trigger happy morons bad side. Just think about it till he loses interest and forgets about it.

IchNichtenLichten@lemmy.wtf on 06 Mar 20:10 next collapse

The only thing Trump can be trusted to do is regularly shit himself.

supersquirrel@sopuli.xyz on 06 Mar 20:14 collapse

I trust Trump to cheat at golf while everyone around him pretends he isn’t and kids are dying somewheae because of his choices.

Voroxpete@sh.itjust.works on 06 Mar 21:38 next collapse

Oh hey, look, it’s an object lesson in why being a reliable partner on the global stage actually matters.

phutatorius@lemmy.zip on 06 Mar 23:33 next collapse

Seeing as how he’s sold out every ally he could, the best course will be to tell him fuck off, or to agree something, then take no action once his short attention span has been exceeded.

green_red_black@slrpnk.net on 07 Mar 00:46 next collapse

From what I hear directly from Kurdish sources they are not mobilizing. Rather they are sitting back because they have been back stabbed enough

Sharkticon@lemmy.zip on 07 Mar 01:24 next collapse

They cannot honestly be asking if they should trust Trump. Like I refuse to believe anyone is honestly asking themselves that question.

Uranus_Hz@lemmy.zip on 07 Mar 02:26 collapse

Even before Trump there was zero reason the Kurds should ever trust the US. I’m sure they remember being slaughtered by the Turks after the US/CIA abandoned them after the last gulf war.
