I mean realistically it would enable a direct land connection from Asia to the Continental Americas Which would be cool for shipping freight. You could drive from The southernmost tip of Africa North into Europe, East into Asia, and then east again into North America, finally, you could finish your trip all the way at the southernmost point of South America.

FWIW you can’t drive from North America to the southernmost point of South America. You’re gonna have some problems a little after Panama City.

There is not a tectonic plate boundary there… drilling a permanent tunnel could actually work… at least, it wouldn’t be especially vulnerable to earthquake issues…
That doesn’t mean it’s a good idea, of course… 85km is a very long distance to travel through a tunnel. A train would make a lot more sense than trucks for cargo movement.

So… The western 42km will be train, the eastern 42km an 8 lane highway. In the center they gonna build puttrum plazza where you can change means of transportation.
Ah that sounds like what they were doing in stranger things and we got hold of the wrong end of the stick! It wasn’t nefarious it was just to give us a mall and new transport and shopping options.

Margaret Thatcher really wanted the Chunnel to be trucks only. It was impractical enough even they relented and accepted a train carrying cars. For why, look up pictures of the Chunnel Fire.
Simply put the car in neutral and have the air pressure difference push the cars through.

Yeah, I’ve also been 8 years old and have dreamed while looking at maps. We also should build a bridge across the Atlantic and wall of the strait of Gibraltar.

Both economies are doing extremly well and with a pricetag that went from 65B+ to <8B (Plausable /s) it’s attractive to build. Imagine replacing the daily 27 ferry crossings and 116 commuter flights with one big beautiful tunnel that even carries the names of the two biggest egos know to mankind.
65B? People should look into the cost of replacing the I-5 bridge between Portland, OR and Vancouver, WA. Given that, my estimate is closer to a trillion dollars.

Yeah… how exactly do you ventilate 40km of tunnel under the ocean?
The pump to drive air through 25km of duct would be an impressive piece of engineering all by itself.
The duct would be a real piece of work. The pressure in the middle of that pipe would be kind of nuts.
Simply put the car in neutral and have the air pressure difference push the cars through.

The peado and warmonger tunnel. Had a ring to it.
I was thinking "The Poot-Trumpin' Fart Tube", but yours might be more suitable for business purposes.
