For the same reason every authoritarian leadership figure will never back down Netanyahu will never give up this war because he feels, probably correctly, it’s the only thing keeping him personally alive. Either you tear down the whole right-wing power structure within the Israeli government in one fell swoop or, more prudently, you starve them out of resources. Ya know…the same thing we did to Russia immediately after they decided to try to step on Ukraine?
