with Russia presenting conditions that a Ukrainian source said went beyond its previous demands.

Ah yes the good old mafia style “You didn’t like our first offer, well now it’s twice as much!”

Russia expressed satisfaction with the talks

Because of cause they did, smugly.

Common sense left this regime years ago.

The final chance of this war ending is long behind us, it was in September 2022.

At that point. The Russian Army had faced a major defeat and was pushed out of the north and northeast of the country, Kyiv, Chernihiiv, Sumy and Kharkiv.

That was the last opportunity Putin had to call it a day and back off. Instead, he chose to open a window that cant be closed again, he declared an annexation of 4 Ukrainian Oblasts, and ordered a partial mobilization.

Its a forever war now, Russia has married their economy to perpetual war they wont stop, ever. If they do, they’ll implode.
If not in Ukraine, they’ll start a war elsewhere, Central Asia, Middle east, or Europe.

Now, it will rage until one side is completely defeated, and further war will follow it, whether its a defeat of Ukraine and a shooting war between NATO and Russia, or a Russian implosion and civil war with the UNSC, an amalgamation of nuclear armed countries that hate each other, having to invade the country to secure the nuclear stockpile. and even then, I’d say there’s a 100% chance at least one gets used somewhere. Out of spite or Rage

Since their sovereign wealth fund is emptying, they will implode anyway. War is an incredibly expensive thing.

The key requirements for Russia’s implosion:

  • no change in military situation
  • China not keeping Russia afloat
  • EU keeping Ukraine afloat
  • the US doing a bit more than comical relief

Victory for Putin, the whole point was to make Trump step down on the threats of sanctions against Russia, and it worked.
Maybe it’s time we (EU) tell Trump that if he isn’t with us he is against us, just like Bush did to us regarding Iraq, despite what he wanted was for us to support USA based on false intelligence!!
