Italy is sending a ship to accompany the Gaza-bound Global Sumud Flotilla, who said its activists remain shaken but determined following an Israeli attack on Wednesday morning.
Organisers of expedition, which is attempting to carry aid to the Gaza Strip, shared footage this morning appears to show an explosion that detonated on one of the flotilla’s vessels.
Late on Tuesday activists heard explosions and saw drones that targeted some of their boats, currently situated off Greece. “Multiple drones, unidentified objects dropped, communications jammed and explosions heard from a number of boats,” the Global Sumud Flotilla said.
“I have authorised the immediate intervention of the Navy’s frigate Fasan, which was sailing north of Crete and is heading towards the area,” Italian Defence Minister Guido Crosetto said in a statement.

Here’s a reminder of the USS Liberty and Israel.
Seeing this news makes me happy. My country has only recently recognised the Palestinian state, and they don’t seem like to be backing up this symbolic gesture with concrete action any time soon. Italy is currently putting countries like mine to shame.

Why are people upvoting this news and not the one about the flotilla being attacked?
For me, I rarely upvotes news sources which I don’t know if they are reliable or not. The one linked in this post for example.
But that news is so big, and makes me hopeful, so I felt compelled to upvote it.
(I’m not sure if I saw the attack one (I did read about an attack that happened near or in Tunisia, and maybe another news about another attack, I’m not sure), so I can’t say if I upvoted or not and for what reason)
They have been attacked on 3 different occasions during the global flotilla journey (previous flotilla were also attacked before).

Probably nothing. Israel already attacked a UN outposts in Lebanon and nothing came of that. Previously they’ve also attacked the USS Liberty and nothing came of that either.
