Don’t give in. You got the upper hand. Don’t give in !

Hormuz will re-open some day (even if only selective, but you’ll pay for passage for sure). We will manage till then. You have faced much bigger hardship since the invasion.

Hormuz strait will be controlled by Iran, just like the Suez Canal is controlled by Egypt.
When things settle down Iran will run the strait like a business in the same way Egypt does with the Suez canal.

USA and Israel have already lost this war, but they have no way to exit it gracefully, so they will probably escalate it further because it’s the only option, but the result of that will be even worse for USA.

It’s very similar to what happened to Russia in Ukraine. Russia cannot win, but because Putin doesn’t have an exit, the war continues while Russia is collapsing under the burden of the war and sanctions.

The biggest loser in the war with Iran will be USA, the American economy will be hit hard by a global recession. And USA has already lost political goodwill around the world. But more than that, the idea of the might of the US military force has collapsed. USA is now shown to be a paper tiger just like Russia.

It is also remarkable that Ukraine is now doing better against Russia without help from USA, than when they actually were helped by the Biden administration! The political power of USA is probably lower now than should be theoretically possible for a country with the worlds strongest military!

Instead Ukraine is now winning friends among the Arab countries, with agreements of help from Ukraine to protect against the Iranian attacks, that USA is failing to protect against. This will be an enormous boost to Ukrainian prestige and probably secure significant new investments in Ukrainian industries, investments that will probably mainly be pulled out of USA.

When the war with Russia is finished, and Ukraine becomes a member of EU, Ukraine stands to become a very prosperous country. And with these latest turns of events, EU will also benefit enormously from the know how and prestige Ukraine has earned.

Not only that, but Ukraine has become the world’s leader in drone warfare and stands to make a bundle from military sales.

“Pretty please, can you lost the war so we can keep driving our oversized SUVs?”

Hey, could you actually stick to strategies that merely prolong the war? Our Raytheon buddies were much happier with that.

Buffalox@lemmy.world on 31 Mar 08:24 next collapse

I suppose this was only to be expected, considering the situation with the Hormuz strait.
But Ukraine must continue because it’s working, Russia is no longer near collapse, it is actually collapsing now.
Although the collapse has been somewhat in slow motion, it is now clear that the Russian economy is now so bad that many Russians now compare it to the collapse of the Soviet Union.
The worst thing Ukraine and the world can do now, is to help the Russian economy. Of course Putin’s friend USA is doing just that, and has lifted the sanctions against Russian oil!!!

…the initial “signals” appeared to have come from Moscow

so, the “ally” is the US as a proxy for Russia
