Did you know that north stream II wasn’t needed for throughput? There was always plenty of throughput with existing pipelines. North stream II was just for more direct access to russia, for example in the event of problems in transit countries.
The CDU is completely owned by Russian money. Schröder laid the foundations for North Stream when he was Chancellor and then immediately joined the board of Gazprom after retiring.
Can’t even make up corruption that blatant.
Schröder was SPD, not CDU. But that’s beside the point. You guys seem to think that the currently elected party completely controls the judicative system, but this is not the USA.
Also this: If someone commits a crime (blowing up a pipeline) it should not matter to the law if the person who did it is one of the “good guys” (Ukraine) or if the stuff that runs through the pipe comes from the “bad guys” (Russia).
Quite the opposite: if the nationality of the person or the origin of the goods damaged would actually influence how a court decides, that would be corruption.
I’m not saying things like these don’t happen, but you’re grossly oversimplifying the matter
Ah my bad! Thanks for correcting me.
The impartiality of justice is important but only when it’s actually “just”. In this case the system is protecting an immorality (supporting Russia’s war in Ukraine). This means the system needs to be corrected, until then the courts will continue to work against good.
Serhii K did Germany a great favour, by destroying what was essentially a sabotage of German independence as a state. For that he was charged with “sabotage of civilian infrastructure”.
Stop spreading Russian propaganda. The pipelines to Norway are enough to meet German gas consumption. German independence was never an issue. In fact one of the four pipelines is still in working order and has not been used since, because of that. Russia did shut them down before that, so they were not even used to pay for the war.
However Germany has to prosecute, because not doing so would allow Russia to attack the pipelines to Norway, which are needed. If Germany lets this slip, then it allows Russia to attack them.
Take example of Hungary. They aren’t as much dependent on Russian gas for their own consumption as for having the privilege to sell it further. That transit pipe is still an influx of capital and a tool to create strong pro-Russian lobbies from said capital.
Which was not happening, when Serhii K blew it up, as the pipeline was shut down already. Also by that logic international trade in general is sabotage to independence.
This thing is incredibly dumb on so many levels. Russia wanted to cut off Germany and did so. This however does not stop Russia from resuming deliveries on a technical level. So it could not stop that discussion in Germany. At the same time it hurt Ukraine a lot, as Germany did not consider them trustworthy at all, for a very good reason.
Well we just immediately replaced that dependence with gas from the US instead. Much better…
Germany siding with Russia once again.
I hope he get’s like … a small fine!
