Germany and the Czech Republic are blocking all sanctions on Israel, while Italy sits on the fence, even though EU leaders will repeatedly “condemn” Israeli aggression at next week’s summit.
This meant there would be no visa ban on Israeli security minister Itmar Ben-Gvir, which needed EU27 consensus, despite his personal brutality toward EU nationals on an aid flotilla to Gaza in May.

This is what the EU should propose to Israel. Otherwise, it’s not really doing anything. Egypt will be given the West Bank enlarged by land equivalent to the Gaza Strip. In return, Israel will be given the Gaza Strip and land at least 3 times larger than the West Bank in the Sinai Peninsula. Some of the land will be adjacent to water so Israel can build desalination plants. The Sinai is inhospitable, and Egypt doesn’t have the technology to develop it, but Israel does. With its new land, Egypt can give it to the Palestinians, make it a state within Egypt, or whatever it wants.
So what Israël is doing is wrong but you’re proposing to make all Palestinians in Gaza leave their land and subjects to Egypt so the can go from an apartheid state to a dictatorship. I’m sure they’ll be forever grateful for your ‘solution’.
Save your breath, this guy reposts his ingenious solution on every post so often that I gave him a user tag a long time ago:

There’s so much fault in the logic that you can pick apart at practically every piece. Even just the idea that modern nations fight over land control and not resources antiquates the actual UN.
That’s hilarious, I didn’t know you could add tags to users.
In my proposal, the Palestinians in Gaza would leave and live in an equivalent area adjacent to the West Bank. The purpose is to make the Palestinian occupied area continuous. So, you are saying that the Palestinians would prefer living under the Israelis. That’s a compliment to Israel. Also, the Palestinians must be confident that Israel won’t displace them.
Edit: nevermind, he’s a shit poster
nah, a shit poster has a sense of humor!
this is just a moron… or a troll, same thing really.
You’ve already vomited this same shitty proposal several times and you’ve been correctly downvoted to oblivion every time. Why do you persist with this farse?
There are constantly new people joining the community. You continuously criticize my proposal without offering an alternative solution.
Fucking Germany. Fortunately…

Looks like everyone realizes they are no longer able to lead anything. Hopefully they will be soon sent to sit at the kids table with Czech Republic.
And I can assure you statements that the whole population is standing (strongly, even) behind merz and Israel support are completely wrong.
Still pushing this is a part of what is currently breaking politics in Germany. But let’s pretend protest voting are just stupid people.
Germany and Czech are some of the biggest arms suppliers and buyers to/from Israel
What is incredibly stupid is that, sure, the topic is brought up at the EU council, but then why don’t the individual states also apply sanctions?
Some do. I really don’t know why we don’t see more deals done outside of EU. There are ways to do it and sometimes they threaten members with it. Like when Hungary was blocking Ukraine aid some countries suggested a deal could be done simply without Hungary. Just as group of countries, not as EU. I don’t know why they never do it.
Why would they sanction? They are complicit in the genocide.
I'm sure European countries dissatisfied with this will implement their own sanctions.
Do everything possible short of actually taking action.
Will nobody think of the lost revenue of the poor arms manufacturers?
