That was such a relief when I opened the article. This was going to be so fucking dangerous. It literally could cause at least regional collapse of an entire oceanic ecosystem.
It was absolutely wild seeing those articles recently with headlines along the lines of “here’s why it’s maybe not a great idea to kill everything in the deep ocean” like holy fuck we know less about that part of the ocean than we do about outer space and we have to argue about not completely ruining it? What the fuck?
