And there are probably some people in the mix who want to make life difficult for China.
Distract people from the fact that you raped children.

Don’t think it’s a great plan, if it goes on a while I can see China giving Iran weapons to test in the field.

It’s definitely part of their grander geopolitical strategy, else they wouldn’t have hit Iran (twice in the span of a year now). China is a big consumer of Iranian oil IIRC, so crippling their ally and their oil exports is not a bad move, in a vacuum.
